Smartphone lifestyle apps for diabetes prevention

FHT is recruiting participants for a focus group on smartphone lifestyle apps for diabetes prevention in Singapore. We want to know your experience in using smartphone lifestyle apps!

by Geraldine Ee Li Leng

We live in a world where you can find an app for just about anything...including for your health. The app stores are filled with lifestyle and health apps designed to help you be more active, eat healthier, sleep better, lose weight, meditate, and cope with your everyday struggles. But just how useful are these apps? Do they really work?

Our team in Future Health Technologies (FHT) is keen to learn about your experience in using smartphone lifestyle apps. What’s good, what’s bad, and what might the future hold for health interventions delivered via smarpthones?

The discussions will be held virtually, led by professional facilitators from the Facilitators Network Singapore. Participants will receive a S$30 voucher as a token of appreciation for your time and contribution.

Who we are looking for:

  • Singapore citizens and permanent residents (PRs) residing in Singapore
  • 35 - 55 years old
  • English-speaking
  • Own and use a smartphone
  • Consent to participate at own free will

What to expect:

  • Complete short online questionnaire on your health (5 minutes)
  • Participate in a 90-120-minute online focus group discussion with up to 5 persons via zoom
  • SGD30 shopping voucher for your participation
