We currently live in the era of population ageing. As a result, Promoting healthy ageing is becoming a public health priority. It can be supported by modifying lifestyle factors such as physical activity and diet. Poor mental health, in turn, contributes to the opposing effect.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, actions to promote healthy ageing have become even more pressing. To address this challenge, a holistic approach that recognises the inter- connectedness of non-communicable diseases and mental disorders is essential. Using mobile technologies, holistic interventions that integrate physical activity, diet and mental health can be implemented on a large scale. These interventions may have the potential to promote population- level healthy ageing. However, systematic evidence regarding the characteristics and effectiveness of such holistic mHealth interventions remains limited.

This paper external pagepresents a protocol for a systematic review that aims to provide an overview of the current state of the evidence for holistic mHealth interventions, including their characteristics and effects on behavioural and health outcomes in general adult populations.

The systematic review will be the first to bridge this research gap and contribute to deeper a greater understanding of holistic mHealth interventions.
