Principal Investigator of Connected Rehabilitation Technology and Assistive Devices

Mr Christopher Kuah is a Principal Occupational Therapist at the Centre for Advanced Rehabilitation Therapeutics, where his work focuses on the clinical integration of rehabilitation technologies. His neurorehabilitation interests include management of clients with hemiplegia and those with complex neuro-disability as a result of stroke and acquired brain injuries.

Mr Kuah received his professional qualification in 1995 from Nanyang Polytechnic of Singapore, attained the Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Therapy from University of Sydney in 1997, and was awarded the Master of Science in Neurorehabilitation from Brunel University in United Kingdom in 2002. In 2009, he received Ministry of Health HMDP sponsorship to study application of robotics and telehealth platforms in Japan and Canada.

Actively involved in research collaborations with local and overseas collaborators from various higher learning and research institutions, his research scope includes application of brain-computer interface, robotics and sensor technologies for post-stroke movement recovery. In March 2016, he was awarded the Ng Teng Fong Healthcare Innovation Grant to conduct a study of a virtual reality tele rehabilitation system for outpatient and home therapy. He is also currently seconded to the Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore as a Research Scientist.
