Prof. Ecosse LAMOUREUX

Principal Investigator of Early Detection of Health Risks and Prevention

 

Prof. Ecosse Lamoureux is a tenured Professor with DukeNUS Medical School and hold professorial appointments with the National University of Singapore (Ophthalmology) and University of Melbourne (Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences). He undertakes his clinical research with the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), as a Senior Principal Clinician Scientist.

Prof. Lamoureux is considered an international leader in the epidemiology; prevention; intervention; and outcomes research associated with age-related eye diseases; aging; and diabetes microvascular complications. He is also the Director of the Population Research Programme at SERI with over 50 faculty and staff across four highly successful groups, namely Clinical Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Management and his own HSR group.

Prof. Lamoureux’s research programme includes the implementation of several novel RCTs; population-based epidemiology studies; new prevention and treatment models for vision impairment and care; adherence to management of eye diseases; and patient-centred outcomes.
