Dr Sai G.S. PAI
Postdoctoral Researcher of Early Detection of Health Risks and Prevention
Dr Pai received his PhD in September 2019 from EPFL Switzerland. His research interests are in the domain of uncertainty quantification and machine learning aided by physics-based models to support safer and healthier living. His research has received many awards, including awards from the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Association of Computing and Machinery.
After his PhD, Dr. Pai coordinated activities for the Cyber Civil Infrastructure research group at the Future Cities Laboratory (FCL). The team worked on developing computationally efficient tools and software for inferring information from sensing data to support asset management decisions.
Prior to joining the Future Health Technologies (FHT) programme, Dr. Pai was leading the data science team of a start-up in India, engaged in monitoring manufacturing machinery and developing machine learning models to support maintenance actions and production optimisation.
Dr. Pai is enthusiastic about the potential for learning from sensing data in a connected world to enhance decision-making in healthcare and the built environment and thereby improve social well-being.
Research interest
Dr Pai's research interest focuses on machine learning and AI for connected systems in healthcare and the built environment.
