TANG Chi Onn

Robotics Engineer of Connected Rehabilitation Technology and Assistive Devices

I’m a recent graduate from Nanyang Technological University, studied Mechanical Engineering and specialised in Robotics and Mechatronics. I’ve always been passionate about robotics in the medical field whether it be surgical robotics, rehabilitative robotics or medical devices in general and I developed my interest further throughout my experiences so far.

My Final Year Project was with Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore (RRIS) working on the implementation of dynamic movement primitives (motion planning framework) for a 6 degree-of-freedom robot arm to learn from demonstration for assistive feeding tasks.

Before that, I interned at NDR Medical Technology Pte Ltd, a surgical robotics start-up specialising in percutaneous surgery such as tumour biopsy and ablation.

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering), Honours (highest distinction), with a specialisation in Robotics and Mechatronics
