Tengiz SAMKHARADZE
PhD researcher of Connected Rehabilitation Technology and Assistive Devices
In 2021, Tengiz graduated with the master's degree in health economics, policy and management from Karolinska Institute, Sweden. As part of the thesis, Tengiz estimated health care costs from school age up to mid-adulthood (over 25 years) for individuals affected by neurodevelopmental disorder in Sweden.
Prior to joining the Future Health Technologies programme at SEC, Tengiz worked for six and a half years in clinical, academic, and non-governmental settings. He was employed as a physician, invited lecturer and educational consultant. At the same time, as a chairperson of a non-governmental organization, he advocated for improved mental health care services in Georgia.
Within Future Health Technologies programme, Tengiz will be conducting cost-effectiveness analysis of public health interventions. In particular, the research will aim to establish health economic framework for analysis of development, validation and effective implementation of high-value, personalized, technology-aided neurorehabilitation services in health care systems.

Tengiz's research interests include economic assessment of health services and products, as well as policy developments to improve health care delivery process and overall health care consumers’ experience.
