Dr Yijun Zhou
Postdoctoral Researcher of Early Detection of Health Risks and Prevention
Dr Yijun Zhou currently serves as a postdoctoral researcher at the Singapore-ETH Centre, where he investigates individualised risk factors and employs predictive modeling to address hip fractures - an area poised to significantly enhance care and mobility for older adults. Collaborating closely with teams at Duke-NUS, he leverages finite element simulation, machine learning-based surrogate modeling, and data analytics to develop targeted strategies for reducing fracture risks.
Prior to his current role, Dr Zhou earned his PhD from Uppsala University, Sweden, with a dissertation on the “Mechanical Optimization of Orthopaedic Bone Screw Constructs.” His expertise lies at the intersection of engineering innovation and human physiology, encompassing numerical simulation, numerical optimization, and machine learning-driven surrogate modeling. Guided by an interdisciplinary approach, Dr Zhou is dedicated to translating cutting-edge research into meaningful health benefits.
