Cybathlon Symposium

As a kick-off into the Cybathlon, the Cybathlon Symposium, aimed at promoting user-driven designs and evaluating assistive technologies, will take place over two days during 17–18 September 2020.

The entirely virtual symposium is co-chaired by Future Health Technology principal investigators (PI), Prof. Roger Gassert and Dr Olivier Lambercy. In spite of the virtual format, the organisers will ensure interactivity during talks, posters/demos and the podium session.

Prof. Cuntai Guan PI of Connected Rehabilitation Technology and Assistive Devices and FHT BCI team member will deliver a keynote on "Brain-Computer Interface for brain Function Recovery in Stroke Rehabilitation". Prof. Effy Vayena, FHT PI of Health Data Governance and Value Creation will also participate in the podium discussion on "Promoting the provision and acceptance of assistive technologies".

  • Powered Exoskeleton Race: Dr Robert Griffin, Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition, USA
  • Powered Wheelchair Race: Dr Amit Goffer, UPnRIDE Robotics Ltd., Israel
